Two Eagles Golf Club Team wins $500 in Interclub Competition

Kelowna, BC – (July 30, 2014) – Searing temperatures up to 40 degrees Celcius seemed to bring out some scorching scores during the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s Ford Series in Kelowna, BC, this past week, where a full field of competitive junior golfers battled for division titles as well as for a team interclub victory at The Harvest Golf Club on July 28th and 29th.

Driving Range Notice

Please be advised that The Harvest Golf Club will be utilizing mats only on the driving range from Wednesday, July 30^th through Sunday, August 10^th inclusively.  With excessive amounts of usage that our practice facility has experienced since opening, this will allow the driving range to recuperate and hopefully provide good hitting conditions as of August 11^th.   Also note that this exercise will be repeated at the completion of the Club Championship or around Monday, August 25^th.

We’d like to thank you very much for your understanding as this process is done annually and is necessary for our maintenance crew to be able to perform procedures that will allow the turf to recover.  

Golf Course Irrigation Advisory

The heat we have experienced over this last week is one we haven’t experienced in many years.  With temperatures swirling around 40°C this past week, the work of our golf course maintenance crew is that much more challenging.  With the emerald green coloring we've experienced thus far this season combined with golfers expectations constantly on the rise, it is an inerrant challenge to keep the same course visual presentation during these extreme climactic conditions.  As long as these excessive temperatures continue, we are anticipating utilizing upward of 1 million gallons daily, both from our automated irrigation system and manually watering isolated areas in the daytime.
